Congratulations Negar

Congratulations to Negar who was awarded 2nd prize in the Center of Advanced Microscopy image competition. "This image was taken by ZEISS Axio observer. It shows primary astrocytes infected with adeno-associate virus encoded with SOX2 transcriptional factor (I named it fireworks".

Collaborative Parkinson's disease project featured in the news

 Dave Nisbet has moved to the University of Melbourne

Congratulations to Dave who has moved to the University of Melbourne as the Director of the Graeme Clark Institute and a Professor of Translational Biomedical Engineering. He will continue to also run his group at the ANU under an honorary appointment. More information here.

David Nisbet secures NHMRC Project Grant and Fellowship

Dec 14th 2017

A/Prof Nisbet has obtained an NHMRC Fellowship to ultlise nanoscaffolds to treat Parkinson's Disease Dementia. Read more bit.ly/2Bwo6uJ.

He is also leading an NHMRC Project Grant to explore the use of nanomaterials to reprogram inflammatory brain cells into functioning neurons. Read more bit.ly/2AW8GPg

Francesca Maclean win ACT Young Woman of the Year.

Congratulations to Francesca for wining the ACT Young Woman of the Year. This award recognizes Francesca's extracurricular activities that she undertakes in addition to her PhD. It honours an outstanding contribution to improving the lives of women and girls in the ACT. She was awarded it for her extensive mentoring of undergraduate students as well as establishing and growing Fifty50 (a gender equity initiative), creating an inclusive culture in STEM disciplines. We are all very proud of Francesca's achievements.
